Homeless Services

As part of the Maricopa County Human Services Department, the Homeless Initiatives Division (HID) is responsible for leading and collaborating with the community to make homelessness rare, brief, and non-recurring. Maricopa County collaborates with various contracted partners who directly deliver services for street outreach, navigation services, case management, shelter operations, and other services to help people experiencing homelessness move past the condition into a healthy, safe, and sustainable living situation where they are supported and successfully addressing their needs once their housing has been stabilized.

Maricopa County is committed to contributing solutions to the regional issue of homelessness and affordable housing by utilizing federal and general funds to resolve an individual's or family’s experience of homelessness by providing low-barrier shelter, rental assistance, bridge housing, service navigation, seasonal heat relief shelters, engagement and incentive programs for property managers and owners.
