The Public Works Real Estate Division frequently acquires properties for use in projects around the County. Many times properties are only available in parcels larger than the needs of the particular project or in other situations properties are no longer needed due to new engineering/construction methodologies being implemented. The Division, while acting in the best interest of County citizens and effectively maintaining and utilizing responsible land management, either leases these properties or sells the excess land at public auction.
