SCHOOL SAFETY PROGRAM

 Our School Safety Program is a traveling educational show hosted by MCDOT's own "Mr. Safety". Without ever leaving the comfort of the school auditorium, Mr. Safety guides children safely and humorously through a 20-ft crosswalk, across "streets" with working pedestrian signal and traffic signals, and real traffic signs. He not only teaches children about traffic safety, but allows them hands-on experience in a safe environment.
The program is a 1-hour presentation, and usually 1-2 shows are given at a school. There are over 100 schools in Maricopa County that have participated in the program. That number continues to increase throughout each school year. Today, the program reaches over 17, 000 children each year.
